- James T. Lisenby
- TROY James Thomas Lisenby, 86, died Wednesday, March
5, 2008, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
- Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Lomax Memorial
Baptist Church, Correll Road, Troy, with the Rev. Jerry McNeill
and Pastor Larry Beaver officiating. Burial with full military
honors will be in Lomax Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.
- He was a native of Concord, but resided in Montgomery County,
served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a prisoner
of war in Germany. He was a member of Lomax Memorial Baptist
Church and a former employee of Ailene Furniture.
- Surviving are wife, Carolyn Mauldin Lisenby of the home;
daughters, Mildred Smith of Mt. Gilead, Edna McCloskey of Biscoe,
Linda Varney of Mt. Holly, Brenda Freeman of Star, Nellie Bowers,
Elaine Shelton and Darlene Garner, all of Candor; sons, the Rev.
Edward Lisenby of Star, Robert Lisenby of Ether and the Rev.
Wayne Lisenby of Troy; 36 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren;
six great-great-grandchildren.
- The family will be at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, Troy, 7-9 p.m.,
Friday, and other times at the home.
